Play warm up games before the BIG Game…..!!

Every aspirant who aspires for an MBA knows a bit of CAT and other important entrants but is that knowledge of the entrants good enough. Why not actually play some warm up games so as to get the feel of what we are actually headed towards. So let us consider in detail the different parameters on which we are going to be tested. So as we have planned to take more than one entrant we would evaluate the levels at which we make it to the best.

First a few important points…!

There are certain areas which are common to all entrant tests.

a) Quants : This section will test your quantitative ability. Questions would be from the diverse field of mathematics i.e. covering Arithmetic, Geometry, Menstruation, Algebra, Trigonometry, Co-ordinate Geometry and some higher maths as well.

b) Verbal Ability: Through this your English would be tested which includes Grammar, Sentence Correction, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension & Verbal Analogies etc.

c) Data Interpretation: This section would test your analytical ability and questions would be in the form of Analysis of Data. Usually data is in form of tables, charts, graphs and you would be required to study them and answer the related questions

d) Logical reasoning: Here your logical capabilities would be tested. You would be asked to solve complex puzzles; something like Sudoku can help you prepare for this section.

Some entrant tests also test on general awareness and essay writing so it’s better not to avoid these sections:

General Awareness: Questions pertaining to current/past issues (national & global), economics, general knowledge etc.

Essay writing: XLRI do have a essay writing test where you would be asked to write on a topic which can be from politics, economics, general awareness etc.
